Welcome to Maternal Mitochondria’s new page! We hope to keep you updated on all of our upcoming events and projects, and we’re very excited to finally have a dedicated site to do just that. Maternal Mitochondria refers to the collaboration between mother-daughter duo Miriam Sagan and Isabel Winson-Sagan. Miriam is a poet, writer, and teacher, and Isabel is a multimedia artist. Together they share a studio in Santa Fe, NM. Keep a look out for a suminagashi workshop happening in May at the Japan festival, a poetry/suminagashi community installation piece coming to the Railyard Park this summer, and a permanent interactive sculpture at a local business. We’re going to be busy!
